Dear Canyon family,
While doing my reading in the Gospels and fasting and meditating on the Word, I pondered about a way I can still encourage you all to be reading with prayer and fasting through Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John with the goal of “following the Master.” You may remember I challenged all of us to read the Gospels with “fresh eyes” to see how Jesus taught and modeled discipleship with a view toward our becoming better disciples. Since it now appears I will not be preaching again for a time (my surgeon has told me that he wants to schedule another spinal surgery on May 17), my hope is that I can still inspire you all in some small way by sharing some of my meditations regarding the Gospels with you. And I would love it if you shared some of your thoughts with me as well.
To that end, periodically, I will share with you through a “Jenny Lee email” and on the church’s website what I have been writing in a journal as I read through the Gospels. I will call the email/website post “Meditations from Mark.” Chris Conway, our webmaster, will create a blog page on the website where the posts will “live,” and you will be notified through the church’s social media when a new meditation is posted. (At this time, the best way you can respond to the blog’s posts would be either by email or text directly to me.)
