Matt. 11:2-6 – It is amazing to me that John was doubting Jesus’ mission and authenticity after “preparing the way” for Him. But it teaches me that we all are subject to doubt, and we all need reassurance at times. Doubts often come during the trial, and John was certainly undergoing a trial at that time. Doubts derail our determination and put our ministry on hold. We must realize that Christ wants to reassure us as He did with John.
Matt. 11:20-24 – There are times in a disciple’s work that rejection will come. This should not surprise us or discourage our efforts for people’s souls. If Jesus received rejection, surely we will experience the same.
Matt. 11:25-26 – We must never forget that we are chosen by God to deliver the greatest story ever told to all who will hear. We, as followers of the Master, are no more that “little children,” but He has chosen to reveal Himself to us as He did to the Twelve. What an honor!
Matt. 11:28-30 – This is the greatest invitation the world has ever been given, to “come” and be yoked” together with Jesus in the greatest work ever done. Again, what an honor!
